downloading the demo, should be a good addition to the bf series - new mission system in online play the main advantage over cod4 at the moment. I've been a bf fan since the desert combat mod, hopefully this will erase the memories of the horrible bf2 conversion on the ps2.
will report back on how it plays - demo includes online play

well it plays like classic battlefield alright. I've been on cod4 a lot recently, bought the ps3 specifically for it, and bad company is a very different game. wide open maps remind me of the original's Gazala for example. At the moment online it's a two-tier war with the armour & choppers goin at eachother and snipers having their own battle - the assault grunts just tend to get annihilated, even in amongst the buildings.
Think it needs some infantry only maps to get a more balanced ground war going. The gameplay centres around a 'tug of war' style series of battles, the next battle moving further into you/your opponents territory depending on who wins the current one. You win individual battles by blowing up/defending two crates of gold bars in a certain time. Makes for a more dynamic match overall and is a step in the right direction. not sure whether it's a COD-beater yet, I like my infantry skirmishes
