ok i recently started playing with this and was wandering if you folks could recommend a good place to learn about it. this is my first time using any version of ubuntu and need some basic tutorials about setting things up. any suggestions will be appreciated thanks in advance

The most useful source of information I found was the official Ubuntu forums. They usually answer your question quickly and in detail. They help me a lot when I started messing Ubuntu.

learn to use the sudo and the sh commands before anything else.

Remember that linux is about learning how your computer works and how to make it better... so don't be scared to mess with anything... if u ever get nervous just boot up the live cd that normally is included in almost every ubuntu cd/dvd and fiddle around in there!!! With anything major just do a google search on the topic because there are ALOT of Ubuntu tutorials and howto's out there!
