Extracting .tar.001.htm It's the htm part?

The .htm has me lost. How do you open or extact with that extention?

Exitus, Thanks for your reply and you answered my question right, but I did not ask it clearly enough to get the answer I was looking for. Please let me try once more.

The files I end up with are saved as shown below. The .htm extention is what I cannot get to open?

Sorry for wasting your time with the last post. I am living in a third world country and my internet connections are always slow. So it's a disappointment
after a long download not to be able to open a file. Will be back to the USA sometime next month.

No problem and hey... nobody is wasting time to help

Step 1: try to delete the *.htm extension, so the files should look like:

www.softarchive.net_afterscp2.tar.001

www.softarchive.net_afterscp2.tar.002

Step 2: use HJ-Join / Hj-Split to compare the files

Step 3: use WinRar to open the generated "www.softarchive.net_afterscp2.tar" -file

Exitus, Thanks for your reply. The root of this problem is that Vista seems to want to protect the system and it's files from the user. The real problem I was having was I could not see the true file extention (.htm) to even change it. After some searching I found how to fix the issue I was having, seeing the real file extention (.htm). The link to how to show file extentions is below. At least in my mind you can't (or shouldn't without caution) change what you can't see.

Vista over all I like once you learn how to get through some of the "protect the system (computer/files) from the user" atitude the MS devolopers had.

Of course IE and Vista suck ass, and so does netload.in

copy the link, which looks something like

paste that into a decent download manager like FreeDownloadManager (or use the "Download With" menu option).

then you get a file named "www.softarchive.net_afterscp2.tar.001". (which, BTW, should be about 400MB).
No problems.
