To capture a movie shot I use Power DVD.
Because It is a perfect for selected Shot like camera.
And when I want shot I click just One Button .

Media Player Classic has the best User Interface with built-in screen capture and thumbnail functions.

File -> Save Image...
File -> Save Thumbnails...

You can choose what to save the image as, and how many/size of thumbnails.

Many people use it to create thumbnails, you can sometimes see the "MPC" logo on the upper right of the video thumbnail cap.

I also feel it does the best job at playing WMV files if you have the ffdshow plugin installed, better than VLC's built-in WMV decoder.

The only issue I have with it is it saves images at the native aspect ratio (actual pixels), rather than the displayed AR. At least PowerDVD and (I think) VLC save image captures at the displayed (output) AR. For example; DVD captures captured with MPC are always 720x480, so you might want to resize them properly to 854x480 (16/9) or 640x480 (4/3).
